In my last post, I mentioned how the media is quite ignorant when it comes to My Chemical Romance, or rock music in general. That left me thinking, they’re probably ignorant on all topics. I just happened to notice the pattern of them being ignorant on rock because I’m somewhat knowledgeable on this subject (I read a lot). What really makes them ignorant though? What if the information I read is bogus as well?

It seems they always seem to interview the wrong people that make a story twisted, or completely false. What if I’m just biased though and only think they’re wrong because I have a different point of view?

Back to my point. I’m ignorant on most subjects, so I believe, to some extent, everything the media tells me. After all, they are the only source of news with the exception of witnessing events first hand. Thanks to my ignorance, I don’t question everything the media tells me simply because I’m not knowledgable like I am with music.

But what if I was to witness everything the media talks about first hand? Would I start to question everything? Would everything they say be fake or distorted?

A few months ago I had satellite tv, which enabled me to watch hundreds of channels. Out of all of these I found one in particular that really intrigued me. I believe it was called Reality Television, or something around those lines. Basically, all I saw was people suffering in different parts of the world. I said to myself, “Wow, finally a channel that shows the truth.” Now I’m just thinking they are exaggerating by only showing the negative side of the story, thus spreading propaganda.

There’s a large possibility that your life, your culture, consists of what the media has taught you over the years. You probably think it’s not true, but the media eventually reaches you in some way or another. You don’t have to be a television addict, or a TV watcher at all, eventually it will reach you. Is this a bad thing though? I’m personally happy the way I turned out, and I think that’s the most important part.

So how much of what the media tells us is actually true? How much is personal opinion? And how much do they use to their advantage? To wrap this post up, I think you should all take what you see on the news with a grain of salt and try to experience the situation personally so you can make your own decisions, so you can have your own ideas. But then again, what makes me right? After all, this is just my opinion.

I’ve been doing some reading recently and apparently My Chemical Romance fans have stopped moshing to a certain degree. I’ve also seen some videos of a moshpit at an MCR show and it was, well, pathetic. But, I also got an email last week from a father who’s son broke his arm in an MCR concert. I haven’t come to a conclusion yet, do they mosh or not!?

Well here’s more evidence that they do, but I’m still skeptical. The video is quite hilarious by the way. As always, the media is quite ignorant when it comes to My Chemical Romance, or rock in general.

You can now listen to the entire new album on MySpace. The album comes out in stores on August 28, so make sure you buy it, or not.

I also made a very pointless discovery while looking at their MySpace. If you go to their last page of comments, you see a comment by Tom. I guess they registered when MySpace was still in it’s infancy.

That’s what it says if you try to watch the video I uploaded yesterday of the Foo Fighters. I can’t really argue, it’s true, it is copyright infringement. What I don’t get is that it’s not a leak or anything. I got it from AOL music, and simply uploaded it to YouTube. I basically gave people the option of watching it on their favorite video site instead of on AOL (AOL doesn’t even work 100% of the time).

Oh well. At least I didn’t get sued.

Regis pretty much ruined the surprise that Joel Madden of Good Charlotte was going to propose to Nicole Richie.

As I searched for a song that I’m trying to learn so I can record and upload to YouTube, 911Tabs directed me to FireTabs. To my surprise, the site had the following message:

Not very surprising. I can say however, that this is absurd and ridiculous. The song I was looking for isn’t even copyrighted! I believe they’ll be back up eventually. Looks like they’re staying positive, their tagline says:

He still hasn’t replied to the accusations, but he’ll probably say something stupid like, “ugh yeah, happy birthday” just like when Frank Iero recently apologized to Manson.
