As I searched for a song that I’m trying to learn so I can record and upload to YouTube, 911Tabs directed me to FireTabs. To my surprise, the site had the following message:
Sorry guys. Our guitar tabs, bass tabs, and drum tabs and lyrics are gonna be down for a while… thank the NMPA, the MPA, and the CMPA.
Please support us by making a donation to help us in our legal battle. We are currently contacting our lawyers and are getting advice on how we can battle this motion. We hope to have your content back up ASAP.
You can still listen to the radio though…
Not very surprising. I can say however, that this is absurd and ridiculous. The song I was looking for isn’t even copyrighted! I believe they’ll be back up eventually. Looks like they’re staying positive, their tagline says:
Now with under 0 Tabs and lyrics! Wooo!
A bit of humor never hurts right? Sigh, there goes my daily guitar session favorite tabs site.

2But surely if they are what you think it should sound like and you’ve worked it out yourself then it’s not copyrighted. The lyrics anyone can write them down and put them on the internet - whether they benefit from monetary items is another hting!

3I guess we should shut down Utube now! Its just our interpitation of the damn songs anyway. Should we cut our ears off too, because some of us play by ear..

4All the tab sites should band together and fight this NMPA, the MPA, and the CMPA ban as a group. Will help the legal fees situation.
While we’re waiting, we can make tab easier for ourselves when we learn easy rhythm.
